KISS have announced that their first shows using avatars will take place in 2027.
The rockers confirmed this news via social media, have previously revealed that they will continue as virtual avatars, becoming the first band to do so.
This comes after KISS have performed their last shows as humans, in New York’s Madison Square Garden on December 2, bringing the curtain down on their ‘End Of The Road’ farewell tour.
These avatars were reportedly made by Industrial Light & Magic, George Lucas’ SFX company.
Lucas’ company produced these avatars in collaboration with Pophouse Entertainment Group, a company which is behind ABBA’s Voyage avatar show, having been also co-founded by the band’s Bjorn Ulvaeus.
“50 years is a long time”
KISS announced their news regarding their future avatar shows via social media.
Alongside a teaser clip, KISS also added a caption on this social media post.
“50 years is a long time, and what the future holds is in the making,” the caption reads, while the video includes the wording: “2027 a show is coming”.

However, it is unlikely that the KISS avatars are to appear as realistic as those created by ABBA.
“We’re going to figure it out after the tour,” Pophouse CEO Per Sundin said. “Is it a Kiss concert in the future? Is it a rock opera? Is it a musical? A story, an adventure?”.
Last month, the band were forced to cancel several shows, as frontman Paul Stanley was taken ill.
Stanley had been suffering from the flu. More on this from Nova here.
