After it was leaked on social media, Rockstar Games has officially revealed the trailer for Grand Theft Auto VI.
The trailer, which you can watch below, also confirms that it’s coming in 2025, and that the title is indeed simply Grand Theft Auto VI for now. No specific release date was revealed.
The trailer gives us a look at the game’s female protagonist, a first for the series. Her name is Lucia, and that she starts off in prison – “bad luck, I guess,” she quips.
Tom Petty’s “Love Is a Long Road” plays in the background, and ends with more of Lucia and a male character, her lover and partner-in-crime as she says “The only way we’re gonna get through this is by sticking together and being a team.”
Rockstar said in November that the trailer would arrive in “early December,” leaving the video game industry to sit tight with bated breath.
Confirmation finally came on Friday, December 1 when Rockstar revealed the trailer would arrive December 5, but Rockstar clearly pushed up the release following the leak.
