Five more people with Covid-19 have passed away in the Republic. It brings the death toll to 1,664 since the outbreak began.
There have been 38 new cases detected with the total now standing at 25,142. The reproductive rate for Covid-19 has increased slightly for the first time in several weeks, the Health Minister confirmed.
Simon Harris stated that the main measuring tools indicated the reproduction number (the number of people an infected person infects) was now between 0.4 and 0.7.
In the past few weeks, it has been stable at between 0.5 and 0.6.
