Foals have released a new single for Record Store Day titled ‘Rain’. The previously-unreleased song will be released on April 16th, along with a cover of Mark Ronson’s ‘Daffodils’.
The track was recorded during the sessions for the band’s latest album What Went Down, which came out at the end of last year. It was the band’s fourth studio album in total and it was recorded in the South of France.
Speaking about the future of the band, Foals frontman Yannis Phillipakis recently said “We’ve only just put out a record so I think we’ve afforded to take some time [for a break]. I don’t think there’s a rush right now. We need to live life again, that’s always beneficial to making a record.”
He continued saying “I think we need to take a break,” he added. “It’s hard to predict [how long that will be]. We might start writing again tomorrow.” So far Foals are unsure what they will do after they tour What Went Down, with many fans speculating that the band members will work on their own solo projects.
