Foals have recently said that they need to take a break before they record their next album together. Speaking at the NME Awards last night (February 17th), Foals frontman Yannis Philippakis revealed the news.
The band released their fourth album late last year titled What Went Down. Since then the band have been out on the road promoting the new album.
Yannis spoke about the band’s future at the award show last night. Yannis said “We’ve only just put out a record so I think we’ve afforded to take some time [for a break]. I don’t think there’s a rush right now. We need to live life again, that’s always benefitual to making a record.”
He continued saying “I think we need to take a break,” he added. “It’s hard to predict [how long that will be]. We might start writing again tomorrow.”
These comments comes after Foals recently said that they don’t see the band lasting forever. Frontman Yannis said “I’m not thinking about it right now because we all just get on really well and we’re having a blast. But it’s already been going on far longer than I expected it to.”
