Foul Play Ruled Out After Woman Tragically Dies In Fire In Dublin

Gardai have stated that foul play has been ruled in the tragic death of an elderly woman in north Dublin.

A woman in her 90s died after a house fire in Corballis, Cloghran on the Swords Road on Monday night.

Gardai and Emergency Services attended the fired which happened close to Kealy's pub in the area at around 11pm.

According to a Gardai spokesperson. the elderly woman was fatally injured in the fire but it is not believed to be suspicious.

The spokeswoman said: "Gardaí and fire services attended a fatal house fire in Corballis, Cloghran Co Dublin on the 12 November 2019 at approximately 11.20pm.

"A woman in her 90s was fatally injured in the fire. Foul play not suspected."

"A scene has been preserved for a technical examination. At this stage this incident is not believed to be suspicious."

Dublin Fire Brigade said: "Overnight firefighters from three stations attended a serious house fire on the Swords Road. Crews from Swords, Finglas & Kilbarrack on scene."
