Andrew 'Freddie' Flintoff has said that he made his upcoming Top Gear crash documentary, in order to set the record straight about "what actually happened".
The Top Gear co presenter was involved in a crash while filming at the Top Gear test track in December 2022, an accident which left the former England cricketer with severe facial injuries and broken ribs.
Following this, the BBC suspended production for the "foreseeable future", calling it inappropriate to continue. Flintoff also received £9 million in compensation due to his injuries. More on this here.
In the trailer for his upcoming documentary, Flintoff, which will hit the UK and Ireland screens next week (April 25), the former sportsman says: “I'm not saying I’m embracing them, but I'm not trying to hide my scars".
“It's almost like a reset. I'm trying to find out what I am now. I've always seemed to be able to flick a switch, I've got to find that switch again", he added.
The film will also feature Flintoff's wife, Rachel Wood, as well as interviews with close friends, including his former England cricket teammate, Michael Vaughan, as well as comedian Jack Whitehall, and James Corden.
