The hugely popular British TV presenter Keith Chegwin, who made his name presenting popular children’s shows Cheggers Plays Pop and Saturday Superstore, has died at the untimely age of just sixty.
The man affectionately known as ‘Cheggers’ had a progressive lung condition and died at home surrounded by his family.
In a statement, Chegwin’s family said: “We are heartbroken to share the news that Keith Chegwin sadly passed away following a long-term battle with a progressive lung condition, idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, which rapidly worsened towards the end of this year.”
Upon hearing the news, many tributes poured in from friends, former colleagues, celebrities and fans.
