Gardai have made a second arrest as part of their investigation into the horrific murder of Tristan Sherry as part of the botched Blanchardstown gang hit.
The 26-year-old was the suspected gunman who was fatally stabbed after a botched gangland murder attempt at a Blanchardstown restaurant around 8pm on Christmas Eve.
Another man, aged in his 40s, remains in a serious condition in hospital. Gardai on Wednesday confirmed that a man has been arrested. It’s the second arrest made as part of the probe.
“Gardai have arrested a male in relation to the investigation into the murder of Tristan Sherry that occurred at a premises on the Main Street in Blanchardstown, Dublin 15 at approximately 8pm on Sunday, 24th December 2023.
“He is currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984, at a Garda Station in West Dublin.
“The male is the second arrest made as part of this investigation.
“Investigations are ongoing.”
Gardai in Blanchardstown continue to appeal for witnesses to come forward.
The investigation is being led by a Senior Investigating Officer (SIO) and a Garda Family Liaison Officer (FLO) has been appointed to liaise with both families.
Gardaí have increased uniform patrols in the Dublin Region, with support from armed patrols, including the Garda Armed Support Unit.
