A man in his twenties has died in hospital after he was injured in an assault in Co. Kildare in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Gardaí are continuing to appeal for any witnesses to the incident to contact them. The attack happened on Dublin Street in Monasterevin in the early hours of Sunday morning.
29 year old Dylan McCarthy, from Kilmallock in County Limerick, was found unresponsive by the emergency services.
He was taken to Tallaght University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead this afternoon. A post mortem examination will be carried out.
Another man aged in his 50s who also suffered injuries in the incident, is in a serious condition at Tallaght Hospital.
Any person who was in the vicinity of Dublin Street, Monasterevin between 12.15am and 12.45am on Sunday, 21st August 2022 is asked to contact investigating Gardaí. Any road users who were in the area and who may have camera (including dash cam) footage is asked to make this available to Gardaí.
