Gene Simmons has promised “no more make up” when he performs on stage in the future.

Simmons like the rest of his KISS bandmates, were renowned for their iconic black-and-white paint which covered their faces.

However, the band performed their final show of their ‘End Of The Road’ farewell tour at New York’s Madison Square Garden last December, bringing the curtain down on the 50 plus year career.

Following this, Gene Simmons has made a promise that he will ditch this look when he takes his “little side band” on tour this Summer.

“no more make up for me” – Simmons Promises

Speaking to Entertainment Tonight, Gene Simmons said, “We’ve got a little side band called the Gene Simmons Band, and we’ll be headlining festivals across Europe, South America… no more make-up for me”.

“But we’re the luckiest people in the world”, he added.

While they may have finished as a touring group, KISS did confirm that their first shows using avatars would take place in 2027.

These avatars were reportedly produced by George Lucas’ SFX company in collaboration with  Pophouse Entertainment Group, a company responsible for ABBA’s Voyage avatar show, having been also co-founded by the band’s Bjorn Ulvaeus.

KISS confirmed this themselves via social media.

“50 years is a long time, and what the future holds is in the making,” the caption reads, while the video includes the wording: “2027 a show is coming”.

However, Pophouse CEO Per Sundin did say that these KISS avatars are unlikely to be as realistic as those created by ABBA.

“We’re going to figure it out after the tour,”, Sundin said. “Is it a Kiss concert in the future?”

Adding, “Is it a rock opera? Is it a musical? A story, an adventure?”.
