Gig-Goer Handed Jail Time For Vicious Assault At The 3 Arena

A gig-goer has been handed down a jail sentence for his part in a "brutal" attack on a woman at a Take That gig.

The Independent reports that the vicious assault left the victim with a bruised kidney and her hair torn out.

Ciaran Byrne, originally from Dundalk, Co Louth got involved after his sister and fiancée at the time of the assault were arguing with the victim over a spilt drink.

Judge John Hughes gave him a sentence of six months duration when he confessed his part in the attack at Dublin's 3Arena.

Byrne, aged 33, with an address at St Helen's Road, Harrogate, England, pleaded guilty to assault and violent disorder.

Byrne's two co-accused in the incident, whose cases have been handled with separately by the courts.
