Green Day have donated $100,000 to 'Americares' to help with the Hurricane Harvey relief effort.

The charity has been helping with relief in Texas since before Hurricane Harvey hit the state. The band also performed an intimate charity gig on Facebook yesterday to help raise more funds for the charity. If you didn't catch the performance live, you can check it out below.

Speaking of Green Day's donation, president of 'Americares' Michael J. Nyenhuis said “Americares is truly grateful to have Green Day’s support. Their generosity and dedication means so much to us, as we restore health and hope for those affected by Hurricane Harvey.”

Meanwhile, many celebrities are getting involved in a Hurricane Harvey Relief Telethon. The broadcast will take place on the 12th of September in the US. Celebrities confirmed to be taking part include George Clooney, Oprah Winfrey, Jamie Foxx and Matthew McConaughey.
