Iconic song Sweet Child O’Mine from Guns N’Roses, features in the new trailer for Despicable Me 4, the latest film from the animated franchise.
The new film, the first instalment of the franchise in seven years, sees the world’s favourite supervillain-turned-Anti-Villain League-agent Gru, return for a new adventure, which sees him encounter a new nemesis in Maxime Le Mal, (Will Ferrell), and Maxime’s femme fatale girlfriend Valentina (Sofia Vergara).
This new franchise follows on from 2022’s summer blockbuster of Illumination’s “Minions: The Rise Of Gru”.
The film will also see Gru (Steve Carrell) and Lucy (Kristen Wiig), along with their girls Edith (Dana Gaier), Margo (Miranda Cosgrove), and Agnes (Madison Polan), also welcome a new arrival into their family, in the form of Gru Jr, who is keen to cause havoc for his father.
Other names lending their voices to Despicable Me 4 also include The Late Show’s Stephen Colbert, Joey King, and Chloe Fineman.
Despicable Me 4 is to open in cinemas on July 4.

Sweet Child O’Mine Voted The Greatest
News of Sweet Child O’Mine featuring in the trailer for Despicable Me 4 also comes almost a year on from the iconic Guns N’Roses hit being crowned the Greatest Guitar Anthem.
This voting poll was carried out by Absolute Radio listeners, with presenter Sarah Champion a big fan of ‘Sweet Child O’Mine’, claiming it “takes you on a journey”. More on this here.
Last week, Guns N’Roses also released an AI-generated version of their new track The General.
“Between the concert footage, [the video] dives into the subconscious of a young boy who stares down the monsters of dark childhood memories, blurring worlds in the process,” the band also said in a press release.
“The result is unlike anything the band has done before and continues a longstanding historic tradition of bold visuals from Guns N’ Roses”.
