Guns N’ Roses Have An Appetite For Cash – New reports have shown that the LA rockers were the biggest earners in rock music last year. The band’s reunited lineup consisting of Axl Rose, Slash and Duff McKagan made a total of €36.6 million in 2016, according to Billboard’s Top 50 Money Maker’s of 2016 chart. Largely due to the huge success of their ‘Not In This Lifetime’ tour.
One of the stops on that tour was Slane Castle in May this year. The gig sold out in 24 hours with 80,000 of the general admission tickets flying out the door.
R&B singer Beyoncé took the crown in the overall chart with a staggering €53.8 million earned last year. Guns N’ Roses came in at a close second overall. The earnings have been calculated by combining the artists’ earnings, including publishing, touring, streaming and sales.
Also not too far behind the reunited band was Bruce Springstein, earning a cool €36.5m in 2016. His live shows which celebrated 35 years of ‘The River’ made a large contribution to this grand total.
