According to reports. Bez, the dancer with the Happy Mondays is in talks to be a contestant on this year ’s popular TV show, Strictly Come Dancing.
It’s not the first time Bez has been a contestant on TV, he won Celebrity Big Brother in 2005 and was also a participant on Bargain Hunt.
The Mirror reports that Bez talking to bosses at Strictly to guest on their 2019 series this September. So far, radio host Chris Evans has been confirmed as the only name on the line-up.
According to the NME, Bez bragged in 2016 that he could “go all the way” and win Strictly if he competed. Bez explained the reason for his confidence, “Dancing has made me famous and entertaining people is what I do best. I’ve lost count of the number of blokes who’ve come up over the years and said, ‘Thanks for making it OK for indie guys to get on the dance floor’.”
Happy Mondays lead singer Shaun Ryder said in October of last year that he was also asked to guest on Strictly but producers then hesitated on the deal over worried that Ryder would swear on live TV.
