Harris Horror as Sinn Fein Hot on Fine Gaels Heels

With less than a full week to go till the General Election, Sinn Fein has gained two points in the Sunday Independent Ireland Thinks poll out today.

Mary Lou McDonald's Party are now level with Fianna Fail on 20%, with the latter unchanged.

It's just two points behind Fine Gael, who have suffered a four point DROP.

Aontu poll well, up two points to 5 per cent, level with the Social Democrats who drop 1, with Labour unchanged behind them on four.

The Greens are down 1 to 3 per cent and People before Profit behind on 2.

Independents and others gained 3 to sit on 19 per cent.

In terms of the party leaders, while the party has polled well, Sinn Fein Leader Mary Lou McDonald still lags behind the outgoing Taoiseach and Tanaiste.

Mrs McDonald is on 41%, with both Simon Harris and Micheal Martin on 47% approval.

Social Democrats leader, Holly Cairns is the third most popular leader on 44%, with Aontu's Peadar Tobin is on 42%.

Richard Boyd Barrett is on 38%, Labour leader Ivana Bacik is on 37%, while the least popular leader is the Green Party's Roderic O'Gorman on 28%.
