Dublin's Howth Roots and Blues Festival kicks off the first of their three day weekend event, with an exciting line up in store tonight.
It is an event which showcases the best that Ireland has to offer in live roots and blues roots.
While many of the artists may be blues based, The Howth Roots and Blues Festival is certainly an event which very much caters to music lovers of all tastes.
Such genres include Americana, Reggae, Latin, Bluegrass, Rhythm, Country, well anything rootsy to be precise.
Offering you the best in aspiring live acts, The Howth Roots and Blues Festival includes a line up "full of great live bands".
Speaking on the festival, event organiser Paul Byrne hopes that the festival will encourage fans to discover and promote new and precocious Irish bands.
"I hope you all discover a great band or artist at this festival that you'd love to go and hear again or check them out online. And if you do then the festival has achieved it's goal. Ireland is full of great live bands and this is a way of hearing lots of them over a day or a weekend", he said.

Festivals such as the Howth Roots and Blues Festival, are a wonderful way of providing young and aspiring bands the opportunity to make their dream of hitting the big time a reality.
Other initiatives also include The Three City Stages, which allows young musicians to perform across big stages in Ireland such as the 3Arena and others.
Thanks to this initiative, eight young musicians will have the chance to perform at this year's Electric Picnic.
“The City Stages platform has been a huge success to date,. At Three, we are so invested in live music it is fantastic to see City Stages discover and provide an elevated platform to some incredible new artists” Marketing Director UK & ROI, Aislinn O’Connor said.
