The BBC has apologised after its coverage of a 3rd round FA Cup football replay between Wolves and Liverpool was interrupted by pornographic noises being played while live on air.
Host Gary Lineker, said in a tweet that the moaning noises came from a hidden mobile phone which had been ‘taped to the back of the set‘ in the studio looking out over the pitch at Wolves’ home ground Molineux.
The hoary old boring meme is trotted out regularly on social media to catch out unsuspecting viewers with their phone volume turned up in public places.
The sound caused a sharp contrast to Gary Lineker’s soft east midlands lilt, with the BBC presenter laughing along with pundits Alan Shearer, Paul Ince, and Danny Murphy.
Lineker would later tweet a photo of a phone hidden in the studio, which was the source of the noise.
Jarvo69 has since been revealed as the perpetrator. Apparently he’s some sort of prankster. He livestreamed his efforts to sabotage the BBC’s coverage.
