Gardaí at Lucan Garda Station investigating the shooting incident at Bridgeview Halting Site yesterday, January 20th, in which Derek Coakley Hutch died, have made a further appeal to members of the public, who may have any information or who may have been in the area of Cloverhill Rd. Clondalkin between 1.30pm and 3.10pm on the day of the incident.
Gardaí are also appealing for information, witnesses or people with ‘dashcams’ who may have been in areas listed below at the relevant times;
1) A black VW Golf registration 05-CE-1675 was found shortly after the shooting on fire at Crag Avenue, Dublin 22.
2) A black Toyota Avensis registration 04-D-72956 was found burnt out at Snowdrop Walk, Darndale at 6.25pm.
A post mortem is due to be carried out this afternoon on the body of Derek Coakley Hutch – who was shot at the Bridgeview Halting Site in Ronanstown.
The 27-year-old was shot a number of times, and despite efforts by two of his friends to resuscitate him, he died at the scene.
It has been revealed that Mr Hutch had been warned his life was in danger.
The scene has been preserved for a technical examination and an incident room has been set up at Lucan Garda station.
