Irish Music Month, which has seen 21 Independent Radio Stations celebrate and promote all things Irish Music in association with Hot Press, have finally chosen six artists to perform at the Academy in Dublin as part of A New Local Hero.
A New Local Hero is the unique music award, created as part of Irish Music Month.
The six artists in question will play a special show at the Dublin venue on Tuesday 15 October, with the winner being crowned Ireland’s New Local Hero for 2024.
The six artists who you can check out below, are among the brightest young aspiring music artists in the country, selected from a long list of 20.
Each artist was selected as a Local Hero from 20 independent stations across Ireland.
A New Local Hero:
- Calum Agnew (LMFM)
- Bobbi Arlo (FM104)
- Asophonics (KCLR FM)
- Mia Black (Shannonside/Northern Sound)
- Jessica Brett (Tipp FM)
- Projective (Cork’s 96FM)
The lucky winner will win €5,000 in cash, as well as €1,400 for the live performance from the final.
The winning track will also get 30 plays on each of the independent radio stations.
The winning artist will also be interviewed with Hot Press Magazine, leading to plenty of exposure.
