Muireann Bradley released her debut album 'I Kept These Old Blues' last week, and has gained huge support, as a result, which appears to be going from strength to strength.

Speaking about what inspired her musical aspirations, Muireann Bradley mentioned her father playing old music, and the sounds of the Appalachians a century ago.

On what influenced her, the Donegal teen also pointed to her father's stories about American musicians.

"I grew up steeped in these old blues in the hills overlooking the valley of the River Finn just outside the town of Ballybofey in County Donegal", Bradley said.

"My father would play this music constantly at home and wherever we went in the car and talk about it endlessly whether anyone was listening or not, telling stories about the lives of these musicians as if they were legend, mythology or the evening news".

It would appear that our latest musical talent is a jack of all traits, have also revealed that she is a keen amateur boxer.

You can catch Muireann Bradley and co on Jools Holland's New Year's Eve Hootenanny from 11.30 on BBC television on NYE.

Speaking of Rod Stewart, the singer also announced that he will perform at Dublin's Royal Hospital Kilmainham in 2024. Find out more here.
