Irish Teenage Girl Seriously Injured In Fall In Spain

A 16-year-old student has sustained serious injuries in a fall in Granada in Spain. The Department of Foreign Affaires is providing consular assistance to her family.

The Irish teenager, who attends a private school in south Dublin, suffered multiple facial and head injuries in a fall from a five metre high wall last Friday in the Andalucian city.

She had been socialising near the famous Fuente del Avellano (fountain) on the outskirts of the city at around 10pm last Friday when she fell from a high wall.

She was attended to by paramedics at the scene before being rushed to the intensive care unit at the city’s Hospital de Neurotraumatología, according to report.

She remains in a serious condition with face and head injuries according to local reports. Police are conducting an investigation.
