On this day 29 years ago, the world lost one of the most talented musicians to ever live.

Freddie Mercury died of complications from aids at his home in London, aged 45.

Mercury's death came one day after he publicly admitted he was HIV positive.

The Queen frontman was idolised by fans for his lyrical brilliance and on-stage energy.

During his lifetime Mercury, defied stereotypes and shattered convention to become one of the most beloved entertainers on the planet.

Freddie Mercury will always be missed, never forgotten and forever loved.
