Rod Stewart has opened up about performing at next year’s Glastonbury festival, claiming that “it’s going to cost me a fortune to do it”.

The Worthy Farm festival had confirmed that Rod Stewart would perform at Glastonbury’s Legend slot next Summer, taking on place on 29 June 2025.

“I’m absolutely thrilled to announce that I’ll be playing @glastonbury 2025! After all these years, I’m proud and ready and more than able to take the stage again to pleasure and titillate my friends at Glastonbury in June. I’ll see you there!”, Stewart previously said.

However, Rod Stewart has now admitted that this forthcoming Worthy Farm performance is “going to cost me a fortune to do it – $300,0000 (£236,832)”.

Elaborating further about these huge financial costs, Rod Stewart added: “I’ve got to bring all my band back from America, of course Glastonbury don’t pay for that”.

“But I don’t care if it cost me $1million (£789,440), I would have done it,” the singer concluded. “This is a great honour. It really is the greatest honour”.

Glastonbury is known for not paying artists as much money as other festivals, due to their charity commitments.

However, they do provide huge exposure and knock on effects of that, which are usually much larger.

Last week, Rod Stewart revealed that he is to finish up with “large scale world tours” when his upcoming live shows finish up next year.

“This will be the end of large-scale world tours for me, but I have no desire to retire”, Stewart said.

The singer: “I love what I do, and I do what I love. I’m fit, have a full head of hair, and can run 100 meters in 18 seconds at the jolly old age of 79″.
