Jack Black has made history after releasing the shortest song to ever hit the Billboard Hot 100.

The song, 'Steve's Lava Chicken' is taken from A Minecraft Movie, which arrived earlier this month, and was co written by Black and A Minecraft Movie director, Jared Hess. The song has debuted at #77 in the chart. It has also become the shortest song to hit the UK Official Singles Chart's Top 40.

'Stevie's Lava Chicken' is also the second track hit hit the Hot 100 hit from Tenacious D, following 2023's Peaches from The Super Mario Bros. Movie.

A Minecraft Movie also grossed $816 million globally across the first four weekends of its release.

Back in February, Tenacious D shared their first new music since going on hiatus last year.

Last year, the band pulled the plug on any new music or touring following controversial comments from bandmate Kyle Gass regarding Donald Trump.

During their live show in Sydney. Jack Black paused the show to sing Happy Birthday to bandmate Kyle Gass, who was celebrating his 64th birthday.

At this point, bandmate Kyle Gass was asked by Black to make a wish, to which he said: Don’t miss Trump next time”, in reference to the assassination attempt on Trump's life last year.

Upon their return, Tenacious D released a cover of  REO Speedwagon's 'Keep On Loving You', with any profits from the song going towards funds for those affected by the LA wildfires. More on this story here.
