NOVA CONSOLIDATES IN LATEST RADIO RATINGS
Radio Nova has secured significant gains against its commercial rivals in the latest JNLR radio ratings. The latest figures, which cover the period January to December 2012 show that the radio station has consolidated its position as the latest arrival to the competitive Dublin market place and now commands more than half the daily audience of national broadcasters Today FM and 2FM in Dublin.
CEO Kevin Branigan said, “We’re very happy with this latest set of results; we’ve seen our market position against these two long-running national stations grow significantly. This is a clear win for us and we expect this position to grow throughout 2013”.
The radio ratings, produced for the Industry by Ipsos/MRBI have shown consistent growth for Radio Nova Radio station since its launch during 2010.
Kevin Branigan, CEO, said: “We launched two years in the midst of recession and it’s clear that our music format and investment in our programming and marketing have hit the right note with listeners. From a standing start in 2010, we have made very respectable advances on long-established players, which is a tremendous achievement for us. We will continue this rapid growth into 2013 with significant investment in marketing and promotion.
Radio Nova broadcasts to Dublin city, county and commuter belt, including Wicklow, Kildare and Meath. The station is backed by businessmen Dermot Hanrahan, Des Whelan and Maurice Cassidy as well as radio investors Kevin Branigan and Mike Ormonde. The station offers a diet of ‘guitar-based’ music from The Killers, Coldplay, The Kings of Leon and the Foo Fighters to David Bowie, The Rolling Stones and Fleetwood Mac. It employs a team of 44 full and part-time at it base in the Dublin Docklands.
