This year, T. Rex finally gets inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Why did it take so long? Who knows why anything happens in the Hall of Fame but it’s happening and at the same time there’s a documentary coming out, Children Of The Revolution.
As well as that, to be released on the 4th of September is a Marc Bolan and T. Rex tribute album called AngelHeaded Hipster.
This promises to be amazing given the people appearing on it: for example, Nick Cave does Cosmic Dancer, U2 and Elton John team up to cover Bolan’s signature classic “Bang A Gong (Get It On),” and Maria McKee and Gavin Friday take an extended Ride on A White Swan.
The list of names includes Sean Lennon, Beth Orton, Todd Rundgren and loads of others over the twenty-six tracks on the album. Among those names is Joan Jett doing this one. Jeepster, a glam rock favourite from 1971.
