Jon Bon Jovi has addressed issues regarding his singing voice during a recent Q&A.

The singer addressed these issues, while picking up an award at this week's Pollstar Live!. Bon Jovi picked up this award, celebrating his band Bon Jovi's 40 year music career.

These reported vocal issues became apparent in 2022, following a series of damning live reviews, which even prompted Bon Jovi's local paper to run with a story featuring a headline 'Jon Bon Jovi vocal issues: What is going on and how can it be fixed?'.

"a difficult road"

Addressing these issues, Jon Bon Jovi detailed the extensive surgery carried out to get to the bottom of this ongoing issue.

"I've had major reconstructive surgery in my vocal cords, and I never had anything like this ever", Bon Jovi said at the ceremony.

He continued, "So it's been a difficult road, but I found a doctor in Philadelphia who did something called a medialization, because one of my cords was literally atrophied. Sometimes people get nodules; that's a pretty common place. Sometimes deviated septums and things that they've done take its toll on the cords. The only thing that's ever been up my nose has been my finger".

A week earlier, Jon Bon Jovi was also honoured at the MusiCares Person of the Year Benefit Gala, at LA's Convention Center, for his contributions to music and his philanthropic work.
Bon Jovi also performed at the event, where he treated the audience to a new track from the band Legendary, before being joined on stage by Bruce Springsteen, where the pair performed Bon Jovi hit Who Says You Can't Go Home, and Springsteen's The Promised Land.
Last month, Bon Jovi guitarist Phil X also spoke of his excitement regarding the band's upcoming album. More on this here.

It was also confirmed that a new documentary about Bon Jovi was also coming out in April. See more on this story here.
