Jon Bon Jovi has hinted that he may never sing live again.
The rock legend made this admission while stating that of he can't be "great", then he's "done".
Bon Jovi who underwent surgery on his vocal chords in 2022, had revealed that he was uncertain if he would ever return to the stage.
“I don’t know about a tour”, he said previously. “It is my desire to do a tour next year, but I’m still recovering from a major surgery”.
Speaking to the Sunday Times recently, Jon Bon Jovi has now cast fresh doubt regarding his touring future.
“If the singing is not great, if I can’t be the guy I once was… then I’m done", he explained. “And I’m good with that".
The Bon Jovi co founder revealed that he had undergone a procedure called medialisation in 2022, after a vocal chord was found to be atrophying.
He added that there was a “big difference between being in a studio and going out on the road".
“We have just recorded a new album. I sing in vocal therapy every day. But I want to perform for two and a half hours a night, four nights a week – and I know how good I can be, so if I can’t be that guy … put it this way, I don’t ever need to be the fat Elvis", he said.
Back in March, Bon Jovi did share a new lyric video for their single 'Legendary', which features on their new album 'Forever', arriving in June. More on that here.
