Juvenile Released Without Charge In Fatal Stabbing

Gardaí investigating the fatal stabbing of a 54-year-old man at a house in Co. Offaly have today released a minor without charge.

The Italian national suffered fatal wounds after he was stabbed twice at a home on Green Road, Ballyfore, Edenderry, Co. Offaly, on November 19th.

Gardaí had arrested a juvenile in relation to the incident which is deemed to be 'a tragic domestic incident'.

There were four people suspected to be in the house at the time of the incident, including the deceased, and a dog was also taken from the scene yesterday afternoon.

Today authorities have confirmed the 17-year-old's release from custody without charge, with a file now being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
