Kasabian have shared a new single, ‘Darkest Lullaby’, from their upcoming album.

This new tune is from the band’s new album Happenings, which will be released next month (July 5).

Darkest Lullaby is the third song released by the band this year, following on from Call and Coming Back To Me Good.

The video for this song has been inspired by the 70s gangster movie genre, directed by the duo Bedroom.

It shows the current Kasabian bandmembers playing characters for a fictional 70s grindhouse B-movie, featuring drugs, gunfights and violence.

Speaking about the single, Kasabian frontman Serge Pizzorno explained: “’Darkest Lullaby’ is based on a long-lost film from the 1970s – the music video is the trailer for this fictional film that was never made. It was shot and made by a rag tag bunch of artists having the time of their lives”.

Happenings also marks the second album released by Kasabian with Pizzorno as frontman, after he replaced Tom Meighan.

Meighan departed Kasabian in 2021, and was removed from all band merchandise after admitting to assaulting his partner Vikki Ager, pleading guilty to the offence and court. He was sentenced to 200 hours of community service.

The band released ‘The Alchemist’s Euphoria’ in 2022.
