Kate Bush's streaming figures have received a huge boost following the premiere of the fifth and final season of Stranger Things.
Previously, the singer's 1985 hit, 'Running Up That Hill (A Deal With God)' received a huge boost in streaming figures following the release of the fourth season of Netflix series in 2022. The track in the storyline helped to save the character of Max played by Sadie Sink.
Following the appearance of the song in the season, streams for it increased by a whopping 153%.
'Running Up That Hill (A Deal With God)' also reached one billion streams in Summer 2023.
Now, the song has once again featured in the first part of the new season of Stranger Things, leading to yet another boost on streaming services for Kate Bush.
According to a social media post from earlier this week, the classic hit has surpassed 1.5 billion streams on Spotify.
“‘Running Up That Hill’ has today passed the 1.5billion streams milestone on Spotify,” the caption read, sharing a screenshot of the artist page. “It is currently at Number 146 globally on Spotify having featured again in several episodes of Stranger Things season five, the final season, which has just dropped on Netflix".
Another post also revealed that the song currently stands at No12 in the iTunes chart “courtesy of season five of Stranger Things“.
