The iconic rocker’s relationship has long been fraught with a history of bitter feuding and intermittent moments of harsh words thrown at each other.
However, after years of intense squabbling, frontman Mick Jagger and Keith Richards are presently enjoying a somewhat of a truce, as The Independent reports, the guitarist seems eager to do anything to maintain that peace.
According to the paper, the guitarist has taken to using a motorised ashtray that pulls in any nasty cigarette smoke to stop upsetting a now very health conscious Jagger. That’s especially in the light of the recent heart operation the singer underwent earlier this year.
According to The Daily Beast, Jagger, whose father was a physical education teacher, has a physical regime that involves running eight miles a day, cycling, yoga, kickboxing, meditation and ballet.
On the other hand, Richards said earlier this year that quitting cigarettes was tougher than quitting heroin. He told Mojo magazine:
“Quitting heroin is like hell, but it’s a short hell. Cigarettes are just always there, and you’ve always done it, I just pick ‘em up and light ‘em up without thinking about it.”
The fancy ashtray was noticed backstage on the band’s No Filter tour which is wrapping up after two years of touring Europe and The States, this weekend.
