A 52 year old Kildare man has pleaded guilty to the possession of 15 guns and thousands of rounds of ammunition in Rathcoole, Dublin.

Declan Brady of the Park, St Wolstan’s Abbey in Celbridge was due to stand trial at the Special Criminal Court this morning.

However, he pleaded guilty to the possession of 9 revolvers, 4 semi-automatic pistols, a sub-machine gun, an assault rifle and more than 4 thousand rounds of ammunition.

The haul was discovered at the Greenogue Business Park in January 2017. Mr Brady was remanded in custody ahead of his sentence hearing next month.
