Dubliners were trrated to a rare event yesterday, Sunday 18th November. That's as a group of Orca whales were spotted in the Irish Sea. The whales were seen off the east coast around Howth. Despite the rather unsettling title, thankfully, Killer Orcas provide no threat to humans.

The awesome mammals were seen by a shipwright located out of Howth named John Leonard. Visit Howth shared a great snap of the whale's fins sticking out of the water.

Mr Leonard said on Facebook,

"Killer Whales in Transit down the Irish Coast right now. Keep an eye out to sea if you Visit #howth#iwdg #irelandseyeferries
