Yesterday, Kings of Leon kicked off one of the UK’s biggest weekends in music and sport, with an incredible performance at Silverstone ahead of this year’s British Grand Prix.
Once again, Silverstone pulled in some of the biggest acts for this year’s line up, with Kings of Leon top of the bill.
Having watched bands like the Snuts already, Kings of Leon took to the Silverstone stage, treating the fans to a string of live performances of classic tracks, ‘Sex On Fire’, ‘Use Somebody’, as well closing the show with ‘Molly’s Chambers’.
This performance comes ahead of the band’s much anticipated show at Marlay Park tomorrow, as part of their ongoing world tour, promoting their new album ‘Can Wee Just Have Fun’. More on this here.
This evening will also see Silverstone headlined by British rapper Stormzy, supported by Jordss and Ghetts, ahead of a weekend featuring Pete Tong, Jules Buckley and The Essential Orchestra, with Rudimental closing out the set on Sunday.
Silverstone Motoring Well
Silverstone is certainly growing bigger and better, having attracted record crowds of 480,000 fans last year.
This year, a newly reconfigured music arena layout has also been added, with an increased capacity of 60,000.
A 10,000 capacity Big Top stage will also be implemented, bringing a high energy, fun filled family experience.
For the first time, a comedy stage was also added, which included a line up of Russell Kane, Al Murray and Troy Hawke.
Over the passed few weeks, Hollywood actor Brad Pitt has also been filming at the venue for his F1 blockbuster, which will be released on 25 June next year. More on this here.
