Nme reporting today that Kings Of Leon have confirmed that they will release their sixth studio album ‘Mechanical Bull’ this September.
As Rolling Stone reports, the band have revealed that the follow-up to 2010’s ‘Come Around Sundown’ will be released on September 24 and was recorded with longtime producer Angelo Petraglia in their studio in Nashville.
Kings Of Leon bassist Jared Followill said in March of this year that the band had finished recording sessions on their new LP. “I thought we were going to make a really mature album but I’m amazed how youthful it sounds,” he said. “It’s like a mix of ‘Youth & Young Manhood’ and ‘Because Of The Times’.”
Since then, the bassist has also told fans that the record would be “more musically complicated” than their previous efforts.
In a Q+A with fans on Twitter last month (May 27), he also said the “vibe” of the record could be compared to their first two albums – 2003’s debut LP ‘Youth And Young Manhood’ and 2004’s follow-up ‘Aha Shake Heartbreak’ – but that the songs sounded like a “culmination” of all their previous work.
