The childhood home of Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich has gone up for sale at $6.85 million.

This childhood home which is located along a large corner of the Danish suburb in Hellerup, was originally designed by Danish architect Carl Brummer in 1907.

The home which is up for sale for 48 million Danish kroner, has also been described by an official listing as, “been a residence for Denmark’s elite – including various cultural figures, musicians and sportsmen”.

Ulrich’s home which has even been used as a fertility clinic, also boasts hardwood floors, oversized windows, and an exquisite, distinctive design. It also features a utility shed, greenhouse, and stunning backyard.

“wasn’t anything typical”

In a video below, drummer Lars Ulrich also visited his childhood home, decades after living there.

Ulrich lived in the house for the first 17 years of his life. He moved to Southern California in 1980.

Check out the childhood home below.

“That’s where I spent 17 years, right in there,” Ulrich said as he looked up at the house.

He also added, “Up there on the balcony was my dad’s playroom, where he sat and listened to Miles Davis and [John] Coltrane records. Copenhagen was sort of the hotbed of jazz music in Europe in the ’60s… All the jazz musicians would come and hang out here, and a lot of the hippies, and that was his kind of environment away from tennis. When he was here chillin’, that was kind of what he did, and hung with all these crazy cats”.

Ulrich also accepts that his childhood was far from ordinary.

“There wasn’t anything typical about any of this,” the drummer noted. “That’s why when people like [James] Hetfield, and so on, sit there and talk about their childhoods and all this type of stuff, what went on in here was like a whole different universe”.

Speaking of James Hetfield, the Metallica lead singer recently unveiled his new tattoo, which pays a unique tribute to his friend and late Motorhead rocker Lemmy Kilmister.

This tattoo contains some of the late musician’s ashes.
