Liam Gallagher has reacted to the recent Oasis sketch from Saturday Night Live.

Over the weekend, the show did a mock Oasis reunion sketch which poked fun at the Gallaghers’ occasionally hostile past tensions.

The sketch saw James Austin Johnson and Sarah Sherman appear in the show’s ‘Weekend Update’ sketch as the formerly estranged Gallagher brothers, where they promised host Colin Jost that they will never break up again ahead of their reunion tour ‘LIVE 25’ next year.

In the sketch, Jost asks the brothers: “Everyone’s wondering, are you guys gonna be cool to tour a year from now?”.

Johnson’s Noel replied: “I’m cool if he’s cool”, before Sherman’s Liam added: “I’m cool, I’m cool, I’m cooler than you are”.

“Great, so that’s a no,” Jost remarked. “It’s not a hard no, it’s a maybe,” Sherman replied.

Following this, Johnson’s Liam began singing a rendition of Wonderwall with the amended lyrics: “I said maybe, if Liam doesn’t act like a baby”.

The pair later exchanged more insults, and stuck their tongues out at each other.

Last week, Liam Gallagher ruled out doing joint interviews with his brother Noel ahead of that tour. More on this from Nova here.

“Are they meant to be comedians”

This sketch was met with mixed emotions online, with the real Liam Gallagher having his say on it.

After being tagged in a post including the clip, Gallagher replied: “Are they meant to be comedians”. Check out for yourselves here.

Another fan also took to X/Twitter to call the sketch: “just as cringe as you imagine”.

“This Oasis bit is so nonsensical but really making me laugh I guess that’s just part of being an Elder Millennial IDK”, another fan added.

Another fan commented: “I’ve seen the SNL Oasis sketch and it just confirms the USA is teetering on the brink of being a failed state”.
