Camera crews were given access to all areas as Gallagher completed his debut album, ‘As You Were’. The crew were also allowed backstage as he toured the material on the road.
In the trailer we see we begin just after the Oasis’ split roughly ten years ago, with a voiceover telling us that Gallagher was “lost” after the band fell apart. Gallagher also blames his brother Noel for the group parting ways, saying that “the geezer split my band up.”
He then says “the only way out of this mess is music,” that's before we watch the star initiate sessions for his first record. Further on in the clip, Gallagher states, "When I’m singing songs close-up to that mic, nothing could touch it." He also fondly remembers a session in J.J. Finan's pub and hardware store in Charlestown. When a local takes out a guitar it rekindles the singer's love of music.
The NME reports that the film is expected in cinemas on June 7, the film delves into the former Oasis frontman’s journey to becoming a solo artist. Concerning the unrelenting spat with his brother Noel.
The trailer features the boys' mother saying, “it's a new year and they’re all going to get on together,” That's before Liam picks out a photo of Noel and describes him as “fucking Prince Philip”.
As It Was will get its world premiere at London’s Alexandra Palace on June 6th, in addition, there will be an exclusive performance from the man himself. Check out the promo:
