Former Oasis singer Liam Gallagher has named his favourite song from former Britpop rivals Blur.
This comes after Gallagher had responded to comments made by Blur’s Damon Albarn during their pre-Coachella warm up show in California on Wednesday.
According to Albarn, there have been several instances where Americans have claimed song-writing credits for their hit ‘Song 2’.
“Because of the nature of American law, if someone gets a lawyer… they can come quite a long way with absolutely no grounds”, Albarn told the crowd at the Fox Theater Pomona.
“Someone else this year – not only is it that person who’s convinced they’d written it, but there was another person who was convinced. Firstly, I wonder why it’s only that song that they’re interested in”.

A clip of these speech from Albarn was shared on X/Twitter by a fanpage of the singer, with Gallagher replying to the post: “Gotta be out of your box to claim to have written that song absolute TURDOS”.

This led to a heated exchange of words between Liam Gallagher and another user on the site. The fan in question told Gallagher that ‘Song 2’ is “better than any song you wrote Liam”.
In a two part post, Gallagher retorted with “I could write that standing on my head you spunkbubble,” and “It’s music for posh brats”.

Elsewhere, Liam Gallagher was also asked by the fanpage about which Blur track would he have like to have written.
The singer simply replied, “Sing”, with the fanpage following up with asking if ‘Sing’ has ever made him cry, to which Gallagher answered, “Like a baby”.

Earlier this week, Liam Gallagher also defended the length of his shows with Stone Roses’ John Squire.
Gallagher had been asked why the pair had limited their debut LP to just 10 songs, with their live shows lasting under an hour.
