Liam Gallagher has said that he needs to “undo” years of partying, stating that he’s “on the downward slide”.
The former Oasis singer made this revelation in a recent interview with The Sun, having been diagnosed with various health conditions.
Such health problems include being diagnosed with Hashimoto’s disease, which is an autoimmune condition.
“It’s time to undo it all now and get back to reality”, Gallagher told The Sun. “All that stuff that you thought was cool in the early days…it’s time to get healthy. You’ve got to undo all the bad work you’ve done through f****** getting off your head and all that”.
“mashed up”
Along with his Hashimoto’s disease diagnosis, Liam Gallagher also underwent hip surgery due to arthritis last year.
The singer revealed that this has caused him severe pain, saying that his bones are “mashed up”.
“I can’t sleep at night for the pain,” Gallagher explained. “Tossing and turning. So I’m on herbal sleeping tablets and they’ve saved my life”.
He also added, “I’m definitely on the downwards slide, though. But we’re all going to die, aren’t we?”.
“very strange”
If that wasn’t enough, Liam Gallagher also has psoriasis, which causes skin flakes that he revealed were mistaken for a different white flaky substance entirely.
He said, “I remember meeting someone, some very strange kid, who came up to me and thought I had cocaine in my hair”.
“I’ve got psoriasis, so I had obviously been scratching it during the day and there were little white bits and s***. They were taking it out of my hair and putting it on their gums and putting it up their f****** nose!”.
Liam Gallagher has stated that he is now embarking on a “health trip”, reportedly cutting back on drink, drugs and cigarettes.
He also added that he awakens at 4am every day: “As you get older, life is precious, do you know what I mean?”.
The singer is currently on tour with the Stone Roses’ John Squire. They are touring their self-titled debut album.
Gallagher also promised that no material from Oasis or the Stone Roses would feature on this tour. More on this here.
Last week, Liam Gallagher also confirmed that Oasis would celebrate the 30th anniversary of their single ‘Supersonic’ with a special physical release. More on that here.
