Liam Gallagher has issued a response after thousands of Oasis concert-goers saw their tickets cancelled by Ticketmaster. The singer also shed some light on whether or not the band would invite any special guests on stage at this tour.

Last weekend, Ticketmaster cancelled thousands of tickets for their reunion tour shows, amid a new crackdown on bots and touts.

Despite going on sale last August, almost 50,000 tickets ended up on resale sites, with touts selling these tickets at inflated prices. This forced promoters Live Nation and SJM to announce that all tickets sold via secondary sites except for Twickets, would be cancelled, and made available via Ticketmaster at face value.

However,  a myriad of fans have claimed to have had their tickets wrongfully cancelled, insisting that they bought their tickets legitimately.

"I don't make the rules"

Since then, Oasis lead singer Liam Gallagher has broken his silence on the matter, after being asked by a fan: “Liam what do you think of the ticket situation? Thinking fans are bots and getting their money returned?”.

In response, Liam Gallagher replied: “I don’t make the rules. We’re trying to do the right thing. It is what it is, I’m the singer. Get off my case". Check this exchange here.

Liam Gallagher also quashed reports that Oasis plan to bring out special guests on stage for this tour.

When asked by a fan if the band were “having any guests join you on stage for each gig”, Gallagher issued this blunt response, “None of that nonsense".

Theses shows will see Oasis perform two shows at Dublin's Croke Park in August this year, as well as Manchester's Heaton Park, Cardiff's Principality Stadium, Edinburgh's Murrayfield Stadium, and London's Wembley Stadium.

Last month, Liam Gallagher responded to a reported leaking of a setlist from this tour. More on this story from Nova here.
