A man has been arrested following the seizure of a fireman by authorities in Dublin.
As part of an ongoing operation targeting serious criminal activity in the Dublin West area, the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau and the Special Crime Task Force, carried out a planned search.
The search took place in Blanchardstown where a semi-automatic sawn-off shotgun (subject to ballistic examination) was seized along with a stolen high powered motor cycle.
Gardaí arrested a 37-year-old male at the scene and he is currently being detained at Blanchardstown Garda Station under the provisions of Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act 1939/98 as amended.
The investigation is ongoing.
