The hunt for two masked men is underway following an armed robbery in Meath yesterday afternoon. A security van was robbed at a supermarket in Clonee at around 12.40pm. Two masked men grabbed a cash box that a security man had placed on the ground outside a supermarket in Clonee at 2.40 yesterday afternoon.

One of the raiders who approached the security man was armed with a hammer.  They ran off with the cash and turned on to main street and took the next left into Clonee Court It’s believed both men may have fled the scene in a waiting vehicle but full details of how they left the scene are unclear.

The raiders are described as 5’6” to 5’8” and were wearing black scarves on their faces. Anyone who was in the area between 12 and 1pm or anyone with dashcam footage is asked to contact Gardaí.
