A man remains in a critical condition following a serious assault in Co Meath. It happened at roughly 3.00am on Saturday morning at Watergate Street in Navan.
The 21-year-old incurred serious injuries and was rushed to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda.
He has now been transferred to Beaumont Hospital in Dublin, where he remains in a critical condition.
The scene has been preserved and a garda technical exam has taken place. Gardaí are asking for public assistance and appealing for witnesses.
They are asking anyone who was in Watergate Street area between 2.45am and 3.30am who could have witnessed the assault to contact them.
They are also asking any motorists who may have passed through Watergate Street around those times and have dashcam footage to contact Navan Garda station on 046-9036-100.
