A Dubliner's beginning a life sentence for what's been described as the “callous and brutal execution" of two young men.

Anthony Burnett and Joseph Redmond were shot dead as they sat in a stolen car just outside Dundalk in March 2012.

Jason O’Driscoll, with an address at Richmond Avenue, Fairview was convicted in August of their murders.

The court heard their bodies were burnt afterwards.

The trial heard that firefighters were called to a burning car in Ravensdale Forest Park shortly before 11 pm that night.

The bodies of the two men were discovered fused together inside the stolen car that they’d planned to sell to the accused.

They had been shot in their heads.f the double-murder in August following a lengthy trial.

As the judge thanked the jury as he exempted them from further duty for 15 years upon the imposition of guilt on August 2nd, O’Driscoll stood up and said:

“Guilty of f***ing what.”

While today, before being led away, the 36-year-old screamed:

“I’m innocent your honour, the jury got it wrong”.
