A man who brought hatchets, a hammer and a wheel brace to a violent brawl outside a Dublin city nightclub has been jailed.
Ahmad Majeed, of Warrenstown Close, Blanchardstown, Dublin, was part of a 20-man mob which tried to force its way into the club to get at another gang.
Majeed and the rest of his mob arrived at the door of Lost Lane nightclub on the night of July 7th 2019.
Some of them wore ski masks and hoodies to hide their faces. The doorman was punched and kicked as they tried to force their way in.
Petrol bombs, hatchets, and other weapons were found afterwards.
They were planning to attack another group inside the club as retaliation for an earlier attack, during which a man was injured when a car was allegedly smashed up
The security team managed to stop them getting into the venue.
The court accepted that Majeed wasn’t at the front of the mob, but CCTV footage showed him handling a bag containing some of the weapons brought to the club.
