A manhunt is underway for a man after he sexually assaulted a woman in a random attack. That was while she was out walking in Dundalk.
The attack happened around 7.30pm on Thursday evening. The woman was on the Tain walk, which connects the Newry Road and the inner relief road in Dundalk.
Gardai claim that the man approached her and attacked her. It is reported that the woman was sexually assaulted.
According to Extra.ie, the victim was also physically beaten and ‘extremely shaken’ by the attack.
However Gardai said that she was able to defend herself, and her attacker fled on foot and headed northwards on to the Inner Relief Road. The woman, who is in her 20s did not know her attacker.
Gardai say that they are asking for the public’s assistance and any information’ including anyone with dash cam footage.
